Our foundation was born from a story of adversity and the determination to rise above it.
When Spencer was diagnosed with type one diabetes at just eleven years old, the world felt small, and life’s challenges seemed overwhelming. But what once felt like a limitation has become the driving force behind a mission much larger than one person.
Now a senior at the University of Louisville, Spencer has discovered the power of his platform as a student-athlete. He founded Spencer’s Stand not only to uplift children facing diabetes, but to spark a movement rooted in resilience, courage, and community.
Our mission extends beyond the condition itself—we exist to show that adversity, in all its forms, can be transformed into strength and purpose. At Spencer’s Stand, we believe determination is contagious. Every story of persistence has the power to inspire another, and every step forward brings us closer to a world where young people, no matter their obstacles, feel unstoppable.
This is only the beginning, and our goals are big: to shift perspectives, build a national voice, and remind people everywhere that the only way out is through.
